Kazalnica Returns to the Karkonosze Mountains: A New Look for the Resort on the Hill Above Sosnówka

On Kazalnica Hill, 670 meters above sea level, between Karpacz and Piechowice, stands a place that has welcomed hundreds of families seeking a mountain getaway over the years. After a hiatus, the resort is reopening—this time under the new operator, Solarento—and will begin accepting reservations in early July.

A place steeped in history, now reborn in a new form

Kazalnica Hill has long been one of the landmarks of Sosnówka—a village situated on the border between the Karkonosze Foothills and the Jelenia Góra Basin, between the peaks of Kazalnica, Skiba, and Grabowiec. It is here, surrounded by forests and overlooking the Sosnówka Reservoir, that an apartment complex was built, which for many years welcomed guests seeking relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Now Kazalnica is back—with a new operator, Solarento, a fresh approach to guest service, and the very things that have drawn people here from the beginning: tranquility, scenic views, and proximity to the mountains.

A location that many resorts would envy

Kazalnica is located in Sosnówka, just a few minutes’ drive from the center of Karpacz and Sosnówka Reservoir—an artificial body of water that, together with the surrounding hills, creates one of the most picturesque landscapes in the Karkonosze Mountains. The balconies of the apartments offer a view of the mountains and the valley—a view that changes with the time of day and the season, but is always breathtaking.

Karpacz, known as the “town at the foot of Śnieżka,” is the closest point from which to climb the highest peak in the Karkonosze Mountains. In the area, you’ll also find other regional attractions—the Wang Church, moved in its entirety from Norway; the historic St. Anne’s Chapel; and picturesque trails leading to mountain huts such as Samotnia and Strzecha Akademicka.

Apartments with a view you'll never forget

Every apartment at Kazalnica has a balcony—and from it, you can see the Karkonosze Mountains or Lake Bukówka, depending on the location. Depending on the apartment type, the interior includes a bedroom, a living room with a pull-out sofa, and a bathroom with a shower stall—and every unit is fully equipped (TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning).

This place was designed for families who want their own space but don't want to compromise on the standards typical of a good hotel.

Attractions that make kids not want to leave

If you’re planning a trip with kids, Kazalnica has a few tricks up its sleeve. Right on the resort grounds, there’s a free rope course—one of the biggest attractions in the area, available to guests at no extra charge. For the little ones, there’s also an outdoor playground and an indoor playroom, where activities led by experienced entertainers are held regularly.

These are the attractions most frequently mentioned in reviews by past guests of Kazalnica—beautiful views, well-maintained grounds, and plenty of activities for children led by friendly, professional activity leaders. For parents, this means their children will be kept busy, leaving them free to relax.

Indoor pool and wellness area

Guests who book their stay through Solarento have access to an indoor pool—an intimate, peaceful relaxation area free of crowds, available throughout their stay. It’s a place where you can unwind after a day on the trail, no matter what the weather is like outside.

A full wellness area—with saunas and treatments—is available right next door at the adjacent Hotel Seidorf*****, allowing guests at Kazalnica to enjoy a wide range of relaxation options without having to leave the area.

Kazalnica Bistro — convenience without leaving the resort

The resort features the Kazalnica Bistro, where you can purchase breakfast and dinner buffets. This is a convenient option for families who don’t want to waste their vacation time looking for restaurants—all you have to do is go downstairs.

A Pet-Friendly Pulpit

Are you planning a trip with your dog or cat? Kazalnica is pet-friendly—just contact the front desk in advance to arrange the details of your stay with your pet.

Who is "Kazalnica" for?

For years, the resort has primarily attracted families with children—thanks to attractions such as a ropes course, a playroom, and entertainment activities, as well as its proximity to hiking trails and the Sosnówka Reservoir. It’s also a great place for a peaceful getaway for two, with views of the mountains and without the hustle and bustle typical of more crowded resorts.

Reservations coming soon

Reservations for the new season at Kazalnica open in the first few days of July. If you’re planning a family vacation in the Karkonosze Mountains, now is a good time to book your stay in advance—especially during the summer season, when demand for lodging in the Karpacz area is rising week by week.
